To maintain the sustainability of the journal and to cover the costs involved in the publication process, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The APC helps cover the costs of editorial services, peer review, article production, and hosting. This fee is applicable once an article has been accepted for publication and must be paid before the final publication of the article.

The current APC for the Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology is:

• $2,589 USD for all types of articles.

This charge is mandatory for all accepted articles. Authors are required to pay the APC promptly to ensure the timely publication of their article.

Waiver Policy

The Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology understands that authors from low- and middle-income countries or those facing financial hardships may not be able to afford the APC. To ensure equitable access, the journal offers waivers for the APC under certain circumstances.

Authors requesting a waiver must submit relevant documentation, such as evidence of financial constraints or affiliation with an institution in a low-income country. Each waiver request will be evaluated individually.

Additional Charges

In addition to the APC, authors may incur additional charges for the following services, which are optional:

• Color Figures: There is no additional charge for publishing color figures in the article.
• Supplementary Materials: There is no additional charge for supplementary materials such as datasets, videos, or extra files.
• Urgent Processing: The journal offers urgent processing with no extra charge for expedited publishing.

These additional services are optional and will only apply if the author requests them during the submission process. The payment for these services must be settled before the final publication.

Refund Policy

Once an article is accepted for publication and the APC has been paid, no refunds will be issued. However, if an article is withdrawn before the peer-review process begins, authors may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the stage of the publication process.
