Author Guidelines
The Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology (JPSP) welcomes the submission of original research, reviews, and case studies in the fields of plant science, pathology, and related disciplines. This journal seeks to publish high-quality, impactful research to enhance understanding of plant diseases, plant health, and innovations in plant sciences. Below are the guidelines for submitting manuscripts to JPSP.
Types of Articles
The journal invites the submission of the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles: Studies presenting original and significant findings in plant sciences and phytopathology.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews on recent advancements in plant diseases, management strategies, and current trends in plant pathology.
- Short Communications: Brief reports highlighting important findings with immediate application in plant health and disease management.
- Case Studies: Specific cases or instances that offer valuable insights into plant health and disease intervention.
Submission Process
To submit a manuscript to JPSP, authors should follow the submission process outlined below:
- Manuscript Format: Submissions should be made in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF files will not be accepted.
- Page Layout: Manuscripts should be formatted with 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Title Page: The title page should include the title of the manuscript, full names of all authors, their affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact information.
- Abstract: Provide a structured abstract (up to 250 words) summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
- Keywords: Provide 3-5 keywords to describe the article’s focus and enhance its searchability.
- Figures and Tables: Ensure figures are high-resolution (300 DPI) and properly labeled. Tables should be sequentially numbered and cited in the manuscript text.
Ethical Considerations

All authors are required to ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. The journal uses plagiarism detection software to maintain academic integrity.
References (NLM Style)
The Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology follows the National Library of Medicine (NLM) citation style for references. Authors are requested to ensure all references are formatted correctly:
- Journal Article: Author(s). Title of article. Journal Name. Year; Volume(Issue): Page range. DOI if available.
- Book: Author(s). Title of Book. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher; Year.

Peer Review Process
JPSP uses a double-blind peer review process to evaluate submitted manuscripts. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the evaluation. The manuscript will be reviewed by at least two experts in the field of plant science and phytopathology.
Authors will receive feedback on their manuscript, including recommendations for acceptance, revisions, or rejection. If revisions are required, authors must address the reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript for further consideration.
Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors may request to withdraw their manuscript at any stage prior to acceptance. Once the peer review process is completed and the article is accepted for publication, withdrawals are typically not allowed unless under exceptional circumstances.
