The Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology (JPSP) invites the submission of high-quality original research, review articles, and case studies in all areas of plant science, plant health, and phytopathology. We aim to foster the dissemination of cutting-edge research and advances in plant pathology, crop protection, and related fields.

Types of Manuscripts

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: Manuscripts presenting novel research findings related to plant sciences, plant health, and phytopathology, including new discoveries, innovations, and methods.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of current trends, research, and technological advancements in the field of plant science and phytopathology.
  • Short Communications: Concise reports of research, offering new insights or preliminary findings in the plant science field.
  • Case Reports: Studies of specific plant diseases, pathogens, or environmental impacts, offering unique case insights for broader application.
  • Letters to the Editor: Short communications responding to previously published work or offering a new perspective on plant pathology-related issues.

Manuscript Submission Process

To submit a manuscript to JPSP, authors should follow these guidelines:

  • Manuscript Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. PDF submissions are only accepted post-acceptance.
  • Title Page: Include the title of the article, author names, affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact details.
  • Abstract: Provide a concise abstract (150-250 words) that summarizes the background, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions of the research.
  • Keywords: List 3-5 keywords related to the study to help improve indexing.
  • Introduction: Provide background information on the research problem, key literature, research objectives, and hypotheses.
  • Materials and Methods: Describe in detail the methodology, materials, and techniques used in the research.
  • Results and Discussion: Present the results of the study along with detailed analysis and discussion, including relevant figures and tables.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the major findings and their implications for future research, plant health management, and phytopathology.
  • References: References should be cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) style. All references should be numbered sequentially in the order they appear in the text.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should be embedded in the manuscript, each accompanied by a descriptive title and legend. Please ensure that figures are of high resolution (300 DPI minimum) and tables are clearly presented.

  • Figures: Should be submitted in image formats such as JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. Color images are encouraged but not required.
  • Tables: Tables should be numbered and presented in the text. Each table should have a concise title and any abbreviations should be defined.

Ethical Approval and Consent

For research involving living organisms (including plants, animals, or human subjects), ethical approval must be obtained from an appropriate review board. Authors must ensure that their research adheres to ethical standards and provide a statement confirming ethical approval and participant consent.

Plagiarism Check

Manuscripts submitted to JPSP will undergo a plagiarism check. Articles with significant overlap with previously published content will be rejected.

Manuscript Review and Acceptance

All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field. Authors will receive feedback for potential revision, acceptance, or rejection. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted along with a response to reviewer comments.
