Waiver Policy
The Journal of Plant Science and Phytopathology (JPSP) is committed to promoting the dissemination of high-quality research in plant science and phytopathology. We recognize that financial constraints should not be a barrier to publication, and therefore, we offer a waiver policy to assist authors who are unable to afford the Article Processing Charges (APCs).
Eligibility for Waivers
The JPSP waiver program is designed to support authors who lack institutional or external funding. Waivers may be granted to:
- Researchers from low-income and developing countries as classified by recognized economic organizations.
- Early-career scientists and independent researchers with no access to institutional funding.
- Authors who can demonstrate financial hardship.
Each waiver request is evaluated individually to ensure fair access to the publication process.
Waiver Review and Approval Process
The editorial board of JPSP carefully reviews all waiver applications. Waivers are granted based on financial need, the applicant’s institutional affiliation, and the availability of funds. Authors will be informed of the decision shortly after their request is reviewed.
Partial Waivers
In certain cases, authors may be granted a partial waiver instead of a full exemption. The percentage of the waiver depends on financial circumstances and the availability of funds dedicated to the waiver program.
How to Apply for a Waiver
Authors who wish to apply for a waiver must submit a formal request to the JPSP editorial office at [email protected]. The request must include:
- Full name and institutional affiliation (if applicable).
- The title of the manuscript and submission ID (if available).
- A detailed explanation of financial constraints, supported by relevant documentation.
Authors are encouraged to apply for waivers at the time of manuscript submission to avoid delays in the publication process.
The JPSP remains committed to ensuring that all researchers, regardless of financial status, have the opportunity to share their scientific findings with the global community. For more details, please contact our editorial office.
